About Dina

Dina is a British-Iraqi writer and award-winning graphic designer in London, specialising in branding and packaging design for international brands and purpose-led small businesses.

Dina brings strategic thinking, cultural insight, and a bold, joyful approach to her design.

Alongside her design work, she creates inclusive children’s books for diverse families. Her latest book, Cool Stuff About Iraq, was made for her half-Iraqi son when she couldn’t find any positive and authentic representation in children’s publishing.

Experience

  • Currently freelancing with branding agencies and small businesses, alongside making books.

  • Over 20 years’ experience working with leading brand agencies and global consumer brands, with multiple design effectiveness awards.

  • Trained in art and design at Chelsea School of Art, followed by a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication Design.

  • Lived and worked in Dubai for three years, designing for Middle Eastern brands. Bilingual English–Arabic.

  • Qualified as a registered nutritionist (CNM) in 2019, and uses design to create accessible health resources for people underrepresented in wellness.

  • Mother to an Iraqi-Scottish four-year-old, her son is the creative force and inspiration behind her inclusive children’s books.

  • Born in Southampton to Iraqi parents and raised in London. Now based in east London.
